I am a currently an MFA student in University of Miami's film school, recently graduated from Brown. I'm an aspiring singer, actor, writer, and/or filmmaker... basically, I'll take what I can get. My first true love is performing, but the film critic in me just won't shut up, and I love writing and directing things, too. I think I wear too many hats (literally and figuratively). This blog is an outlet for my many wild passions, and a way to kill all my spare time. Also, I like to keep my sidebar REALLY full, so if you wanna see archives, just keep on scrolling down ; )
...The Devil Wears Prada is going to hit $100 million. Right now it's at $98.5 million (domestic). I don't know why I'm making such a big deal ticking down the days till it hits... probably because I love Meryl Streep (this is all HER doing).

I'd say that Anne Hathaway meant a lot to this project as well. She's incredibly popular with younger folks, and seeing her in this sort of grown up Princess Diaries woulda helped.
It's true, Anne Hathaway is very popular and will only become moreso over time. I think it's true that she's the next Julia Roberts. But she gave only the 4th best performance here, after Streep, Blunt, and Tucci (still no small feat!).
And I will give her this: girlfriend knows how to choose projects. She's already developing a Tobey Maguire-like ability to snag the best parts for young actors, get famous by appearing in prestige films along with big hits, etc.
