Interesting blog!I entered here just by chance, clicking on the "next blog" feature. I am too busy with my life, my thoughts to blog about cinema, but I love cinema. In your last post I found specially interesting your opinions about Almodovar and Pe Cruz. I have to say after Todo sobre mi madre (all about my mother) simply nothing can statisfy me of Almodovar.
Last movie I saw: Requiem, not so good as the critics said, not so bad as I expected, and the actress is amazingly good.

1. Nicole Kidman was snubbed by SAG when she had both Moulin Rouge! and The Others in play. Echoes of Leonardo?

2. I actually think The Devil Wears Prada will score with the WGA ala Mean Girls and The 40-Year-Old Virgin as smarly written comedies.

1. I doubt Leo will be snubbed at SAG. Blood Diamond is sort of dying, whereas Departed will be all over SAG and will probably win Best Ensemble... so they'll probably rally behind that one. But if they don't, then Leo could be in trouble. Gosling, Cohen and Watanabe are all still so hard to read, in terms of likeliness. Hard to say who's ahead for the 5th spot, or if more than one of them could make it.

2. That's possible, but I think it's actually much more likely that Prada could score with SAG ensemble. I don't think the script is particularly acclaimed... it's all about how much the actors elevated it.

1. I think a Leo snub with the SAG is entirely possible. They've only nominated him once before, despite his having a handful of well-respected and well-buzzed performances.

2. I'm pretty positive that The Devil Wears Prada won't get in with the WGA. The only reason Mean Girls and The 40 Year Old Virgin were included, was because they were actually, you know, well written.

Yeah, Prada was not so much well-written as well-acted.

Unfortunately, I'm really pissed at my blog now cause I switched to blogger beta and the new template system and it messed everything up.

Cohen would easily score at SAG. I mean, they did give Johnny Depp the Best Actor prize for Pirates over Sean Penn and Bill Murray.
